These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website. By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

This site is operated by Recoding America Fund, Inc. (“Recoding America,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Some work described on this site is carried out with our affiliated 501(c)(4) organization, Recoding America Action. The site exists to explain our mission and work, share news, and make it easy to get involved or support the field.

Use of the site

You may use this site for lawful, informational, and personal purposes. You agree not to: interfere with the operation or security of the site; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or data; scrape, harvest, or collect information about other users; misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or use the site’s forms to send unlawful, deceptive, or malicious content.

Intellectual property

The content of this site, including text, graphics, logos, diagrams, and other visual material, is owned by Recoding America or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may view, link to, and share excerpts of the site with attribution for non-commercial purposes. Any other reproduction or use requires our prior written permission. Third-party names, logos, and press marks that appear on the site belong to their respective owners.

Forms and submissions

When you submit information through the site, for example the Get Involved form or the news signup, you represent that the information is accurate and that you are entitled to share it. You grant us permission to use the contents of your submission to respond to you and to operate our programs. Submissions are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Unsolicited ideas or proposals sent through the site are received on a non-confidential basis.

Donations

Information about supporting our work, including available giving methods, is on our Ways to Give page. Contributions to Recoding America Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 33-4770870), are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Contributions to Recoding America Action, a 501(c)(4) organization, are generally not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington, DC, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a reorganization of our operations.
